B.B. King Autographed Black Electic Guitar

B.B. King Autographed Black Electic Guitar

Here is a wonderful B.B. King Autographed Electic Guitar. It's not the original Lucille, but a close looker. Like Lucille, the guitar is made by Gibson (their Epiphone division) and is autographed in silver Sharpie by B.B. King himself. The autograph was done at a Chicago concert.

B. B. King arrived in Memphis for the first time in 1946 to work as a musician but after few months of hardship he left, going back to Mississippi. There he decided to prepare himself better for the next visit and returned to Memphis two years later. Initially he worked at the local R&B radio channel WDIA as a singer. In 1949, he began recording songs under contract with Los Angeles based RPM Records. Many of King's early recordings were produced by Sam Phillips, who later founded Sun Records. King was also a disc jockey in Memphis, where he gained the nickname "Beale Street Blues Boy", later shortened to "B. B." Before his RPM contract, B. B. had debuted on Bullet Records by issuing a single "Miss Martha King" (1949) that got a bad review on Billboard magazine and did not chart well.

In the 1950s, B. B. King became one of the most important names in R&B music, amassing an impressive list of hits under his belt including "You Know I Love You," "Woke Up This Morning," "Please Love Me," "When My Heart Beats like a Hammer," "Whole Lotta Love," "You Upset Me Baby," "Every Day I Have the Blues," "Sneakin' Around," "Ten Long Years," "Bad Luck," "Sweet Little Angel," "On My Word of Honor," and "Please Accept My Love." In 1962, King signed to ABC-Paramount Records, which was later absorbed into MCA Records, and then his current label, Geffen Records.

In November 1964, King recorded the legendary Live at the Regal album at the Regal Theater in Chicago, Illinois.

B. B. King in concert in France (1989) King's first success outside the blues market was his 1969 remake of Roy Hawkins' tune "The Thrill Is Gone." King's version became a hit on both pop and R&B charts, which was rare for an R&B artist. It also gained the number 193 spot in Rolling Stone's Top 500 Songs Of All Time. He gained further rock visibility as an opening act on The Rolling Stones much-ballyhooed 1969 American Tour. King's mainstream success continued throughout the 1970s with songs like "To Know You Is to Love You" and "I Like to Live the Love." Between 1951 and 1985 King appeared on Billboard's R&B charts 74 times.

Chuck Berry Autographed Drum Head

Chuck Berry Autographed Drum Head

We have a wonderful Remo 14" Drum Head, which has been autographed by legendary rock and roller Chuck Berry. It was signed several years ago after a concert in his hometown of St. Louis.

Born in Overland, Missouri, Berry was the third child in a family of six. He grew up in the St. Louis suburb of East St. Louis, Illinois, in an area known as "The Ville", one of the few areas of the metropolis where black people could own property, which consequently made it synonymous with black prosperity. His father was a contractor and a deacon of a nearby Baptist church, his mother a qualified principal. His middle class upbringing allowed him to pursue his interest in music from an early age and he made his first public performance while still in high school.

A pioneer of rock and roll, Chuck Berry was a significant influence on the development of early rock and roll guitar techniques and a major catalyst in the rhythm and blues to rock and roll transition. He was the first to define the classic subjects of rock and roll in his songwriting; cars, girls and school. His guitar style is legendary and many later guitar musicians acknowledge him as a major influence in their own style. When Keith Richards inducted Berry into the Hall of Fame he said, "It's hard for me to induct Chuck Berry, because I lifted every lick he ever played!". Richard Berry (no relation) drew on Chuck Berry's "Havana Moon" as an inspiration for his own song, the now classic "Louie Louie". John Lennon borrowed a line from Berry's "You Can't Catch Me" for his song "Come Together", and was subsequently sued by Berry's music publisher Morris Levy. Nevertheless, they became good friends and played together on more than one occasion.

Anything that Chuck Berry has touched is truly something of rock and roll history.

Goo Goo Dolls Autographed Drum Head

Goo Goo Dolls Autographed Drum Head

We have a wonderful Remo 14" Drum Head, which has been autographed by the Goo Goo Dolls (all three of the current members as well as the original drummer: John Rzeznik, Robby Takac, Mike Malinin and George Tutuska).

The Goo Goo Dolls initially consisted of John Rzeznik (vocals, guitar), Robby Takac (vocals, bass guitar) and George Tutuska (drums). While Takac and Tutuska had been long-time friends in school, Rzeznik was playing in the band The Beaumonts, with Takac’s cousin. The three founded the band under the name Sex Maggots. However, when a club owner booked the band, he requested they change the name, as the local newspaper could not print their current name. The trio picked the current name out of a True Detective newspaper ad for a toy called a Goo Goo Doll. With Takac as their lead singer, the band released their first album, Goo Goo Dolls in 1986 on Mercenary Records, but was picked up in 1987 by Celluloid Records, a larger record company. The band released its second album, Jed, in 1989 after moving to Los Angeles.

In 2006, the Goo Goo Dolls marked their 20th anniversary with their new album Let Love In, which included the studio recording of "Give a Little Bit" as well as other top 10 radio singles "Better Days," "Stay With You," and "Let Love In". With the their third consecutive single ("Let Love In") from the album, the Goo Goo Dolls hit a record 12 Top 10 hits in Adult Top 40 history, beating Matchbox Twenty and Sheryl Crow. The Goo Goo Dolls plan to release another single from Let Love In, "Without You Here", as well as a song from this July's Transformers movie called "Before It's Too Late", originally titled "Fiction". To promote the new single, the Goo Goo Dolls performed "Before It's Too Late" at both The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on June 8, 2007, and again at The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on June 22, 2007. In July 2007 the band discussed their career as a whole and gave a live performance on A&E's Private Sessions. Rzeznik has stated that after the release of "Without You Here" and their summer tour with Lifehouse and Colbie Caillat, the band will return to the studio to begin work on their next album, their ninth overall. April 13, 1996 and July 4, 2004 were proclaimed "Goo Goo Dolls Day" in their hometown of Buffalo, New York.

Also, according to Robby Takac, the band will release a greatest hits album entitled Goo Goo Dolls: Greatest Hits Volume 1 this coming fall, and have plans to release a "career retrospective collection" in the near future.

Jethro Tull Drum Head

Jethro Tull Drum Head.

This Remo drum head was used in concert and autographed by Jonathan Noyce and Andrew Giddings. Jonathan played bass from 1995-2006 and Andrew played keyboards from 1991 - 2006. In the photograph Jonathan wears the sunglasses and Andrew is to his right in the back row.

Jethro Tull are a Grammy Award winning English rock band that formed in 1967-1968. Their music is marked by the distinctive vocal style and lead flute work of front man Ian Anderson. Initially playing blues rock with an experimental flavour, they have, over the years, incorporated elements of classical, folk and 'ethnic' musics, jazz and art rock. Eclectic influences, diverse instrumentation, and often elaborate song construction led them to be labelled as an archetypal "progressive rock" band.

AC/DC Drum Head Autographed by Simon Wright

AC/DC Drum Head Autographed by Simon Wright

Simon Wright (born June 19, 1963 in Manchester, England) is a professional drummer best known for his stints with Hard rock legends AC/DC and Dio. He first started playing drums in his early teens and cites Cozy Powell, Tommy Aldridge and John Bonham as his greatest influences. Wright began his career in A II Z, a New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band founded in 1979 in Manchester, England by guitarist Gary Owens. The full lineup consisted of David Owens (vocals), Gary Owens (guitar), Gam Campbell (bass), Karl Reti (drums). They rapidly acquired a local following in Manchester, and were quickly snapped up by Polydor Records, eager to cash in on the exploding NWOBHM boom. A single live album, The Witch Of Berkley, followed in 1980. Reti was subsequently replaced by Wright. The band then promptly disintegrated. Only Wright went on to major success.

Wright joined AC/DC after their drummer, Phil Rudd, was fired in 1983. AC/DC recorded three albums with Wright in the mid-late 80s; Fly on the Wall, Who Made Who and Blow Up Your Video. Wright then left the group in 1989, and was replaced by Chris Slade. Simon Wright joined Rhino Bucket to replace the departed Liam Jason for their third album, 1994's independently released Pain. In 2007, he reunited with the band for a festival in Pryor, Oklahoma. Wright has had two stints with Dio, 1990-91 and 1998-present. With the band he has recorded four studio albums ( Lock up the Wolves , Magica , Killing the Dragon and Master of the Moon ) and two live albums (Evil or Divine - Live In New York City and Holy Diver - Live).

His drumming can also be heard on albums by UFO, Michael Schenker Group and John Norum. In 2005, Wright participated on a tribute album to Heavy metal icons Iron Maiden. It was his second time doing a tribute disc. The first experience was in 1998 on an album titled Thunderbolt. That album just happened to be a tribute album put together to honour his former employer/bandmates, AC/DC.

Manfred Mann Autographed Drumstick

Manfred Mann Autographed Drumstick

Here is a rare item for you. An autographed drumstick by sixties rocker/bluesman Manfred Mann.

After a further self-penned hit ("Hubble Bubble (Toil And Trouble)") the band struck gold with "Do Wah Diddy Diddy", a cover of a minor hit earlier that year by the Exciters. The track, which showcased Jones' powerful singing, reached the top of both the UK and US charts (The Exciters version had only charted #78 in the US). During 1965 the group continued to have hits with both self-penned and cover material, their sound increasingly moving away from the blues-based music of their early years to a highly successful pop-soul hybrid. Notably the group began to have success with interpretations of Bob Dylan songs, including "With God on Our Side" as a track on a best-selling EP. They also reached No.2 in the UK with the controversial "If You Gotta Go, Go Now", which was banned or edited by a number of TV and radio stations.

8 Inch Drum Head Autographed by Bobby Goldsboro

8 Inch Drum Head Autographed by Bobby Goldsboro

Here we have an 8 Inch Drum Head Autographed by Bobby Goldsboro.

Bobby Goldsboro has had a wonderful careet in music, and it goes back even further than many people know. He started out as a guitarist with Rob Orbison. He traveled with Orbison and even toured with The Beatles. Later in his new careet as a single, he opened for the Rolling Stones, but soon became a super-star in his own right. He produced 16 top-forty hits including See the Funny Little Clown, Honey, and Watching Scotty Grow.

"Honey" was a Number One hit in 1968 in the Billboard Hot 100. The single reached Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart, selling in excess of one million copies. In Australia, "Honey" made it to No.1, rated No.10 for 1968 and is ranked at No.25 on the Oz Net Music Chart's Top 100 for the 1960s. It also reached Number 1 on the Country charts and also became his first country hit. It was also the beginning of his hits becoming more successful on the country charts than on the pop charts by this time. He also wrote some of his hits as well, one in particular, With Pen In Hand, was recorded by several artists, the biggest of which was a pop version by Vicki Carr that was a Top 40 pop hit in 1969 and country singer Johnny Darrell who took his version to number 3 on the country charts a year earlier in 1968. Bobby would also record his own version of the song in 1972 but it only graced the lower regions of the pop charts. In the 1970s he had more hits, including "Watching Scotty Grow,"(a country Top 10 and nearly made the Top 10 on the pop charts peaking at #11 in 1971), "Summer (The First Time)," "Hello Summertime," "Butterfly for Bucky," and "Me and the Elephants." "Summer (The First Time)" would also become his last major pop hit in 1973. From 1973 to 1975, he hosted the syndicated television variety series The Bobby Goldsboro Show.

Remo Drum Head Autographed by Entrain

Remo Drum Head Autographed by Entrain

Epic in sound and kaleidoscopic in vision, the eclectic Martha's Vineyard-based six piece Entrain has been thrilling critics and fans alike since it's inception. Formed by drummer Tom Major in 1993, Entrain is also conga/djembe/trombonist Sam Holmstock. Joining them is saxophonist Klem Klimick, bassist Lenny Bradford and guitarist/keyboards/vocalist Alex Howland. Veterans all, their collective resume includes stints with such diverse players as Chuck Berry, Flor De Cana, Southside Johnny, Gil Scott-Heron, Carly Simon and NRBQ.
-- johnnyds.com

For sale is a 12" used Remo drum head autographed by members of Entrain. This came off Tom Major's drum set and shows the results of many Entrain shows. An Entrain sticker was placed on the top. Members signed with black marker around the edge. This would make a great display piece for the true Entrain fan and memorabilia collector.

This head was replaced some time late last fall or winter (2006) and was signed by the band during a show. The autographs read Tom Major, "Keep on Rockin!!" L. B. (Lenny Bradford), "Con Ritmo" Sam (Holmstock), Alex Howland, "All the Best!" Marty Walsh and Elan.

Since some people describe Entrains as "Percussion, Percussion, Percussion" you can understand the weary look of the drum head itself. Its musical days are over, but not its entertaining days.

Phil Spector Autographed Drum Head

Phil Spector autographed drum head.

This Is A Beautifully Hand Signed Mint 10 Inch BRAND NEW Remo Drum Head, Signed Beautifully IN PERSON By Legendery Producer PHIL SPECTOR. Murderer or not, Phil Spector changed rock and roll. Fellow music producer Al Hazan says, "Instead of using a single bass on the basic track, he would have four people playing bass in unison. Instead of one guitar, he would have five or six playing the same rhythm, and so on. This use of so many instruments was a blessing to the musicians and their wallets. Many became wealthy as a matter of fact . . . This production technique magnified the sound of the instruments, which bled into the other microphones in the studio, and helped create the famous "Wall of Sound". . . Because of the "Wall of Sound," the great material Phil had access to, and the wonderful artists who performed the songs, the hits churned out . . . Some of them I can remember off hand are "He's a Rebel" and "Da Doo Ron Ron" by the Crystals; "Be My Baby" by the Ronnettes; "Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah" by Bob E. Sox & the Blue Jeans; and "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers. Also Phil's classic album, "A Christmas Gift for You".

My Favorite Things: John Coltrane CD - Autographed by Drummer Elvin Jones

My Favorite Things: John Coltrane CD - Autographed by Elvin Jones

"This 1960 recording was a landmark album in John Coltrane's career, the first to introduce his quartet with pianist McCoy Tyner and drummer Elvin Jones and the first release on which he played soprano saxophone. It also provided him with a signature hit, as his new group conception came together wonderfully on the title track. It's an extended modal reworking in 6/4 time that brought the hypnotic pulsating quality of Indian music into jazz for the first time, with Coltrane's soprano wailing over the oscillating piano chords and pulsing drums. The unusual up-tempo version of Gershwin's "Summertime" is a heated example of Coltrane's "sheets of sound" approach to conventional changes, while "But Not for Me" receives a radical harmonic makeover. This is an excellent introduction to Coltrane's work."
--Stuart Broomer

The previous owner tells how he obtained the autograph of the late Elvin Jones, "I was Elvin Jones' roadie for one evening during a Vancouver Jazz Festival one year. He was gracious enough to sign my copy of this CD."

You may see one of Elvin's drum sets at Donn Bennett Drum Studios . In addition you might like to read the article Dreams, Drums, and Memories: The Little Drum Museum.

Static-X Autographed Drum Head

Static-X Autographed Drum Head

Static-X was formed in 1994 from the ashes of Wayne Static and Ken Jay’s former band, Deep Blue Dream. Wayne and Ken originally met at the Chicago record store where Jay worked, and were introduced to one another by Smashing Pumpkins vocalist Billy Corgan (the band also shared a rehearsal space with Smashing Pumpkins for a time). Once Deep Blue Dream folded, Static and Jay moved to Los Angeles to search for new band members. There, they met bassist Tony Campos and guitarist Koichi Fukuda, completing the band’s original lineup. Static-X signed with Warner Bros. Records in early 1998, and released their debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip, on March 23, 1999 and soon after, they released their first single "Push It", followed by "I'm With Stupid" and "Bled For Days" in 2000. Static-X toured strictly in support of the album and twice performed on Ozzfest. In the following year the little-known EP, The Death Trip Continues, was released. In 2001, Wisconsin Death Trip went platinum and is, to date, Static-X’s only album to reach this success. The band has contributed numerous tracks from this album to video game soundtracks and for other promotional applications. The song "Otsegolation" was used in the PlayStation video game, Omega Boost, where it is featured in the main menu and the final boss sequence; and the song "Push It" to the games "Street Skater 2" and "Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes" both also for the Playstation game console. An instrumental of "Love Dump" was used as the entrance music for Kronik in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). This version was later used by Steven Richards.

Liverpool Taxi Cartop Sign

Liverpool Taxi Cartop Sign

Put this Beattle Era Liverpool Taxi Sign on your car and pretend you're in Liverpool when The Beatles were playing at The Cavern Club. Or put the sign on your bookshelf or coffee table and tell your friends you swiped it during a drunken spree as a teenager traveling around dancing to the music of boys from the Mersy. Put a light inside and the amber glass still glows. With this sign on your car roof, you might even make a few extra dollars . . . or meet some new friends. This is truly a collectable piece of rock and roll history and memorabilia.

The taxi unit stands about six inches high in the front and tapers back to about an eighth of an inch in the back. It's a foot wide and nearly sixteen inches long. There are some rust spots showing its age, but it remains in its original condition. This is a great conversation piece.

Supersuckers Autographed Drum Head

Supersuckers Autographed Drum Head

The Supersuckers are an American rock band. They are the self-proclaimed "Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band in the World." Following the relative success of their 1997 foray into country music with the release of Must've Been High, they have also been known to play country shows under various names, including, of course, The Supersuckers. The Supersuckers formed in 1988 as The Black Supersuckers in Tucson, AZ. The original line-up was Eddie Spaghetti on bass, Dan "Thunder" Bolton and Rontrose Heathman on guitars, Dancing Eagle on drums, and Eric Martin as the lead singer. In 1989, they moved to Seattle, WA. Here, Eric Martin left the band. The remaining members decided to continue as a four piece with Eddie Spaghetti taking over the vocalist role. On June 16, 2006 The Supersuckers announced the addition of Scott Churilla as their new fulltime drummer. The Supersuckers have recorded with many artists including: Willie Nelson, Steve Earle, Kelley Deal of The Breeders, and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. They have appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno backing Willie Nelson. They have toured with numerous bands such as Mudhoney, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, The Ramones, Motörhead, Flogging Molly, Toadies, Supagroup, the Butthole Surfers, The Reverend Horton Heat, The New York Dolls, The Dwarves, and White Zombie.

This drum head took a beating at the hands of the Supersuckers own Scottzilla Churilla. All the guys in the band commemorated the event by signing the bruised and battered drum head. It would be a swell addition to any rock and roll memorabilia collection.
